Application of Membrane Separation Technology in Treatment of Waste Water Containing Heavy Metal Ions

Abstract:

The fundamental principles and characteristics of heavy metal wastewater treatment using membrane separation technology were introduced, and the studies and applications of the electrodialysis, liquid membrane, nanofiltration, ultra-low-pressure reverse osmosis, micellar-enhanced ultrafiltration and polymer enhanced ultrafiltration were reviewed. The existing problems and further development were also analyzed and prospected.
