Development of Organic Polymer Flocculants

Flocculation is one of the best process used for waste water treatment, and flocculant is key factor during flocculation process. In this article, development of organic flocculant, including natural modified polymer flocculant and synthetic polymer flocculant were summarized. Emphasis was put on their synthesis methods and applications. Finally, the developing trends of flocculants were discussed.

Research Progress on Fermentation Production of Enzyme by Aspergillus Niger

Aspergillus niger is one of common fungus species.Some characters,such as vigorous growth,short fermentation cycle,no toxins produced during growth,make Aspergillus niger recognized as GRAS(Generally Recognized as Safe)by US Food and Drug Administration(FDA).Aspergillus niger tends to be an important industrial enzyme production strain.In this paper,production of cellulase,xylanase,protease,amylase,lipase by Aspergillus niger is reviewed,and their future prospects of applications are also presented.

Research Progress in Characteristic and Application of Sphingomonas

Sphingomonas is a new genus re-isolated from Pseudomonas in recent years, which has a unique lipopolysaccharide structure.In view of the characteristics of fast reproduction, high efficiency, saving time and effort, and non-pollution, Sphingomonas can grow under high oxygen-poor and harsh conditions, and has been widely used in the degradation of macromolecules, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, petroleum, azo dyes, chlorinated phenols, pesticides, herbicides, and the industrial production of biomass carotenoids and bio-glues.In this paper, we review the application and research progress of Sphingomonas from the following aspects: in the degradation of environmental pollutants, anti-oxidative aging, and interaction with plants.Sphingomonas has the market value of being developed as microbial agents.

Research Advancement of Ethyl Carbamate in Fermented Food

Ethyl carbamate(EC) is a known genotoxic carcinogen which is contained widespread in fermented food. The carcinogenic mechanism,approach of formation,elimination method of ethyl carbamate (EC) was summarized to enhance the social recognition of it as a carcinogen. To better protect customers' interests,the detection method was needed to be improved and the limitation standard of EC was proposed to be established also.

Research Progress on Electrochemical Oxidation Treatment in Refractory Wastewater

This paper describes the research progress of electrochemical oxidation treatment in refractory wastewater at home and abroad,discusses the mechanism of electrochemical oxidation including anodic oxidation technique and cathodic reduction technique in detail,introduces the main influential factors on the degradation efficiency of electrochemical oxidation such as electrode materials,electrochemical reactor,the pH value of the solution,solvent and other factors.The research of electrochemical oxidation mechanism for organic pollutants,the development of electrode materials,the research and development of high efficiency electrolysis reactor,the research on application of specific electrochemical oxidation systems are aspects of the prospect of electrochemical oxidation treatment in refractory wastewater.
