Application of Enzyme Engineering in Medicine Industry

Enzyme engineering is an important composing part of modern biotechnologies, it will take great effect in industry as a new technology. The new advance in enzyme engineering research includes such as enzyme immobilization,immobilization of genetically engineered microorganism(cell). enzyme production by plant cell culture,chemical modification of enzymes, ribozyme, abzyme, enzyme labelling drug and the application of enzyme engineering in the medicine industry. The prospects of enzyme engineering are also explored.

Progress on Synthesis and Application of Polycaprolactone

Refining of Dimethyl Sulfoxide by Vacuum Distillation

Using the spinning waste liquid in the production of PAN-based carbon fibers as a raw material,we comparatively studied the changes of temperature and dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) concentration of each tower section when two technological processes such as the batch vacuum distillation and the batch distillation water at atmospheric pressure followed by vacuum distillation process were adopted,and determined the DMSO concentration in distillate by gas chromatography.The results show that,in the technological process of batch vacuum distillation,when the DMSO concentration in the tower bottom is 81% and the temperature of the first tower section is 77.1 ℃,the distillate begins to flow out,and the DMSO concentration in the distillate is up to 41%;in the technological process of batch distillation water at atmospheric pressure followed by vacuum distillation,when the temperature of the first tower section is 98.5 ℃,the distillate begins to flow out,and the DMSO concentration in the distillate is 1%;with the increase of time,the temperature of the first tower section increases and tends to be stable 100 ℃,the DMSO concentration in the tower top increases and tends to be stable 98%,at this point,the DMSO concentration in tower bottom is 100%,and the DMSO concentration in the distillate is as high as 100%.The study indicates that DMSO can be recovered from spinning waste liquid by the technological process of batch distillation water at atmospheric pressure followed by vacuum distillation.

Application Development of Aqueous Two-Phase Extraction Technology

Determination of Total Flavonoids and Total Polyphenols in Abelmoschi corolla Extracts and Their in vitro Antibacterial and Antioxidant Activities

In this paper, we determined the contents of total flavonoids and total polyphenols in Abelmoschi corolla extracts(ACE) from different origins by colorimetry.Moreover, we studied antibacterial activity in vitro of ACE by agar punching method and microdilution method.Furthermore, we evaluated the antioxidant activity of ACE by DPPH,ABTS,and FRAP methods.The results show that, there is a negligible difference in the contents of total flavonoids and total polyphenols in ACE from different origins.The content of total flavonoids in ACE from Anhui province is the highest at(4.68±0.37) mg·g-1,while the content of total polyphenols in ACE from Shaanxi province is the highest at(1.48±0.11) mg·g-1.ACE has certain antibacterial activity in vitro and can significantly inhibit the growth of Streptrococcus mutans in a concentration dependent manner.The minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC) are 3 mg·mL-1 and 6 mg·mL-1,respectively.ACE has certain antioxidant activity and can scavenge free radicals such as DPPH and ABTS,with a dose-response relationship within a certain concentration range.

Simulation and Optimization in Wastewater Recovery of 1,4-Butanediol by Aspen Plus Software

We treated 1,4-butanediol(BDO) wastewater by the combination process of scraper film evaporator and distillation column,simulated and optimized the process parameters by the Aspen Plus software.Moreover,we verified the feasibility of the simulated process conditions by intermittent decompression distillation experiments.The optimum process conditions are determined as follows:the feeding position is the 22 nd tower plate,the reflux ratio is 3,the plate number is 29,and the distillation ratio is 0.68.Under above conditions,the mass fraction of BDO at the top of the tower can reach 95.87%.By comparing the simulation results with the experimental results,the feasibility of the process and the reliability of the simulation results are verified.

Progress in Preparation of Nano-silica
